Chris McCullough
B i o g r a p h y
Having been playing for a total of 30 plus years, emotion is the word when describing what Chris McCullough brings to the table. Playing drums from the tender age of 6 years old, Chris has honed his craft over the years to be as musical a drummer as he possibly can. Whether playing with enough force to make the Earth shake, barely playing loud enough to register in the microphones, or playing everything in between, Chris puts his heart and soul into every note and every piece of music that he is asked to play. And if you ask him, he’ll tell you, “I owe it all to the great teachers that I’ve had over the years”.
Being an independent drummer has allowed Chris to play with and for a number of different artists, acts, and styles of music. Currently he divides his time between private teaching, recording projects, playing for and arranging percussion for the world renown Livingston Parish Children’s Choir, playing as the full time worship drummer for Florida Blvd. Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, La., and playing for various other local and regional acts after having toured regionally with Ampersand, a classic rock and roll tribute review show. Most recently, Chris has enjoyed some time focused on teaching and being a part of a number of varied musical projects.
Chris proudly endorses Soultone Cymbals, Vic Firth drumsticks, the Kelly SHU, and GorillaEars in ear monitors. He is a member of the Vic Firth Education Team, the Professional Drum Teachers Guild, and Hudson Music’s Teacher Integration Program, and is honored to be mentioned in Dan Britt's Drumopedia drum method book for beginner drummers.
